RUMI TURNING ECSTATIC

A tragic car crash propels Petrova on a mystical journey - from the California
desert to the shifting sands of the Middle East - taking us on a road trip of
discovery, uncovering key scholars and scientists who currently animate Rumi?s
philosophies. Tina Petrova sets out to shine a light on his activism at work in
the world today.

Canadian Filmmaker Tina Petrova?s extraordinary documentary Rumi- Turning
Ecstatic premieres in Iran this week , as part of "CINEMA VERITE" Documentary
Festival- currently underway in Tehran at Cinema Felestin (www.defc.ir). The
50-minute film includes readings from Rumi?s poetry; interviews with leading
translators of Rumi?s poetry; and scenes of the Mevlevi Dervishes of Turkey.

This program will also include poetry reading, accompanied by renowned Persian
musician, Mehdi Assad.
